Governing Body

Lindens Governing Body

As required by the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012, the Governing Body at Lindens Primary School was re-constituted in 2015, and amended on 29th March 2017.

It consists of: 2 Parent Governors, 1 LA Governor, 1 Staff Governor, 7 Co-opted Governors and 1 Headteacher

Parent Governors are elected by other parents at Lindens. Any parent, or carer, of a registered pupil at the time of the election is eligible to stand for election. Governing bodies may only appoint as a parent governor a parent who has, in their opinion, the skills to contribute to effective governance and the success of the school.

Local Authority Governors are nominated by Walsall Local Authority but appointed by the governing body. It is for the governing body to decide whether the LA nominee has the skills to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school and meets any other eligibility criteria they have set.

Staff governors are elected by Lindens school staff.

Co-opted Governors are appointed by the governing body. They are people who in the opinion of the governing body have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school and may include up to 2 members of staff.

The Headteacher is a member of the governing body by virtue of their office.
