GDPR and Privacy for School Accounts

As many of you will be aware, new regulations have come into force regarding data protection. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects how a wide range of organisations handle individual data.

As part of delivering our school curriculum and giving every child a rich learning experience, we sign up to a range of educational software to which children also have access. For example, Times Table Rock Stars, Pearson Bug Club reading software, Class Dojo rewards. This means that we need to supply a limited amount of onward data to these organisations.

For the most part, this involves a simple sign up process, using teacher created accounts to then create a profile for each child – usually name, user name and password.

Naturally, each of our partner organisations is fully compliant with GDPR regulations, handling all data in a secure and sensitive manner, but we wanted to signpost you to these various organisations, should you want to find out more information for yourself.
